1 day tour and hike of Glencoe with Bryan Millar Walker of Distinct Scot Tours
A year before I landed in Scotland, I was scrolling through TikTok when Bryan came across my FYP. I immediately hoped he was a tour guide, and when I found out he was...I booked him a few weeks later.
​
Bryan and I spent 4 days together at the end of my trip. We toured Glencoe, Isle of Skye for two days and finally the east coast of Scotland before returning back to Edinburgh. Not to be dramatic, but those 4 days changed my life. I've never done anything like that before, and it surpassed every expectation I could have asked for.
​
So when I reached out to him and asked him if he would be open to doing a one day tour and hike to Glencoe next June, he said yes and I was so excited because this experience will be out of this world. Bryan will be our personal tour and hiking guide for the entire day, provide transportation, and I can't wait for you to meet him.

For the longest time I told myself that solo travel would be impossible for me. I chose to believe it, over and over again. And then I suddenly lost a good friend at the age of 38, and I promised her (and myself) I would never take time for granted ever again.

Hey I'm Jess, your guide and host for the Edinburgh, Scotland trip in June of 2024.
Shortly after her death, I started planning my solo trip to Scotland never having been anywhere international before. I researched for months on where to stay, what to do, and where to eat. I loved every second of it.
​
I lived in Edinburgh for a month by myself earlier this year, and I'd like to think it changed me forever. I came home different than when I arrived, and I found a version of myself I loved and was proud of. I knew that I had to bring other women back to this city so they could experience that level of life. I felt alive, for maybe the first time in years.
​

what you can expect
Scotland is pure magic and Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. After I lived there for a month, I knew I had to bring other women back so they could experience the energy that this city has. I wish I could put it into words, but it's impossible. This trip is meant for you to explore and discover while connecting with other women who are there to do the same.

I've planned an itinerary that includes both guided tours and iconic places to see, but I also purposely put in multiple free days for you to wander solo or go where you would like. I'm a big believer that some days we just need to rest and recover and be fully in the moment. I want you to feel welcome to do what YOU need. There will be some hiking, TONS of walking (trust me you'll be in the best shape of your life after this trip), incredible food, whisky if you're into that sort of thing, so many incredible new people to meet, unexpected magical moments that you'll be talking about forever, and so many other things that are going to be super important and special to only you. I can't wait.

Leading up to the trip I'll send prep lists on what to pack, tips and resources for the best rain jackets (trust me you'll need one!) as well as other get to know your group kind of intros before we meet in Edinburgh!
I'll be your guide and support before and during the trip on whatever you may need! My goal is to make sure you feel completely confident and excited going into the experience as well as when we're all there.. I want you to be able to be fully present and in the moment so the less planning and thinking about where to eat and where to go, the better!
